Avid update

Fixed in Avid Media Composer v3.1.3

The following have been fixed in this release.

  • (Macintosh) Previously, MultiCamera playback would not playback properly when there was a mix of 3 way and 9 way MultiCamera clips in the Timeline. This has been fixed.
  • After performing a send to playback transfer, you might have seen signal distortion with sequences containing rendered Timewarp clips. This has been fixed.
  • Previously, you might have received multiple “Out of Memory” errors when in fact the system was not out of memory or you might have seen a sudden spike in the Memory Usage indicator in the Project window. This has been fixed.
  • Playing back EVS media on a Symphony Nitris (classic) is not supported. Playback is supported for Symphony Nitris DX.
  • The editing application would crash when checking in a sequence with a Chyron plugin. This has been fixed.
  • When performing a Send to Playback to an Airspeed or FTP DHM with PAL DV25 media, clips were pixilated. This has been fixed.
  • The editing application might have received “FatalAbort Calling a method on a freed object” errors when working in an Interplay environment. This has been fixed.
  • You might have had problems performing video mixdowns and transcodes of DV25 media. This has been fixed.
  • On systems running the Windows Vista operating system, if you installed the Sample Media, it did not get installed in the proper location. It now installs to the correct location: \Users\Public\Documents\Shared Avid Projects.
  • Previously, if you focused from the editing application to another application and then back to the editor, it would take 10 seconds or more to refocus to the editor. This happened when you were in a shared storage environment. This has been fixed.
  • When working with a 16mm film project, the feet and frames displayed in the Center Duration was inaccurate. This has been fixed.
  • If an AVX1 effect was sitting directly on a filler clip, both the effect and the filler would disappear during the promotion. This has been fixed.
  • Previously, you might have received “Assertion” errors when creating AAF. This has been fixed.
  • You might have received an “Exception: Legend Audio Communications” error when playing an unrendered sequence containing a Picture-in-Picture effect. This has been fixed.
  • Previously when editing group clips in Multicamera mode, the last selected video source clip replaced the first clip on the timeline and altered the previously edited sequence when you checked a bin into Interplay. This has been fixed.
  • After editing in an offline resolution and then performing a Dynamic Relink, the clip might have been unplayable. This has been fixed.
  • You might have received “Exception:ConvRGBAtoNRLE::ReadSample” errors when creating, editing, or recreating titles or importing PSD files. This has been fixed.
  • You might have received a “SpringBuffer TIMEOUT” error when applying a 3D warp to an Animatte effect in an HD project. This has been fixed.
  • You might have received a “WARNING: AParamList::ConvertToAAF2() - Parameter” error when checking in a sequence that contained a Timewarp effect. This has been fixed.

  • When in Multicamera mode, swapping banks displayed images from the previous bank in the Source monitor. This has been fixed.
  • If you created Stylesheets in the SubCap effect and then closed the editing application, once you restarted the editing application, you could not find the stylesheet. This has been fixed.
  • Applying effects on titles in the editing application changed from previous releases. When creating titles with an editing application prior to version 2.8.4, the effect just applied to the fill or the letter itself. With releases later than 2.8.4, the effect applied to the background also. This has been fixed.
  • Previously, when performing a Digital Cut with 10-bit HD, the digital cut would switch to 8-bit. This has been fixed.
