Product Update: Media Composer 6.0.3.3, Symphony 6.0.3.3, and NewsCutter 10.0.3.3 Now Available

Avid is pleased to announce that the Media Composer 6.0.3.3, Symphony 6.0.3.3, and NewsCutter 10.0.3.3 maintenance releases are now available for download from the Avid Download Center (login and password required.)

These updates are available at no charge for customers running Media Composer 6.0.x, Symphony 6.0.x, or NewsCutter 10.0.x.

These software updates include support for the new Nvidia driver v310.90. The driver is available for download from the Avid Download Center via the patch download page.

Avid is pleased to announce qualification of the 2.3GHz Apple Mac mini (Quad-Core Intel i7) system with Media Composer 6.5.2 and Symphony 6.5.2 (Software only).

Avid is committed to supporting the Apple platform and enabling our users to stay on the latest and greatest Mac systems. The streamlined configuration of the iMac is perfect for cost effectively deploying multiple seats of Media Composer and Symphony in ISIS/Interplay environments.

The 2.3GHz Apple Mac mini (Quad-Core Intel i7) system is available as a reference sale, and will not be sold by Avid.

Product Compatibility: New CPUs Available for Laptop Configurations for Media Composer 6.5.x, Symphony 6.5.x, and NewsCutter 6.5.x

Avid is pleased to announce expanded support of laptop systems for Media Composer 6.5.x, Symphony 6.5.x, and NewsCutter 10.5.x.

Recently Intel® released new, faster CPU chips for the current generation of laptops. As some of the current qualified laptops may not be available to all customers, Avid has expanded the list of supported configurations to include these new CPU speeds.

Why is this Important?

The demands of modern productions often mean tight deadlines and on-location editing. Supporting the latest advances in mobile workstations (laptops) helps our customers not only take their trusted and familiar Media Composer editing tools wherever they need to be, but also leverages the unique remote collaboration capabilities of Avid's own Interplay technology. In addition, an expanded list of supported configurations grants customers greater choice when making a purchasing decision.
